How to apply for Vietnam visa for the Israeli citizens?
There are several options for Israel passport holders applying for Vietnam visa at present. See below details of each option:
1. Apply for e-visa Vietnam
This is new pilot visa system which has just official launched in February 2017. Vietnam e-visa is good for those who travel Vietnam less than 90 days by bus, train, air plane or cruise ship. From August 15, 2023 all the nationalities including Israeli citizens are eligible for Vietnam e-visa with single or multiple entry.
The processing time for e-visa will take 3 – 5 working days or even longer if your visa information or photo is not correct. You can not board the plane and enter Vietnam with a pending e-visa thus you are recommended not to buy a flight ticket until your visa is granted. In case you have already booked the ticket and the visa is still in processing, we can help you speed up the visa process and complete it within 2 working hours (for the registered entry port of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Danang airports or other entry ports in the North of Vietnam) or 4 – 8 working hours (for all the registered entry port).

At present, visa on arrival is the best way for Israeli travelers to get a Vietnam visa, however it is available for those traveling Vietnam by air only. Applying visa on arrival is much faster and cheaper than applying visa at the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in Israel and more flexible than e-visa.
| UPDATE The Vietnam visa on arrival has been restored after the Vietnamese government re-opened the borders for the tourists on March 15, 2022 after a two-year border closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now the foreigners can get a Vietnam visa on arrival if they satisfy the following requirements: - The foreigners must have a visa approval letter arranged by a legitimate Vietnamese visa agency who is working with the Vietnam Immigration Department on behalf of the customers before their departure; - The foreigners must have a passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival and blank pages for visa stamp; - The foreigners will travel Vietnam by airplane via the international airports. If you travel Vietnam via land border gates or sea port you should apply for a Vietnam e-visa instead; - The visa on arrival is an altenative to the e-visa in case you need to enter Vietnam urgently but your e-visa application is pending or needs to amend at the last minutes, when you are about to board the plane to Vietnam. |
