Things to keep in mind when applying Vietnam e-visa:

  • When applying for Vietnam e-visa, you’ll need to prepare a photo of passport frontpage and a portrait photo. The visa information needs to be filled in completely and accurately as printed on the passport.
  • While your e-visa is being processed, you should regularly check the status of the visa application. If you received a notice from the Vietnam Immigration Department asking you to amend the visa information or update the photos, you should do it as soon as possible. The processing time in this case will be counted from the time you finish amending the visa information or updaing the photos.
  • The processing time may take longer than 3 working days that probably affect to your flight schedule. You are strongly recommended to buy a flight ticket when you already received your e-visa;
  • When you received an e-visa, you should check the information on the granted e-visa against the passport to make sure there is no mistake. Any spelling errors, incorrect information or discrepancies with the passport details would be a serious problem that prevents you from boarding the plane;
  • You may receive a request repeatly from time to time asking you to provide the detailed address in Vietnam or fill all the blank fields in the visa application form… then you need to follow the instruction patiently. - The foreigners must have a visa approval letter arranged by a legitimate Vietnamese visa agency who is working with the Vietnam Immigration Department on behalf of the customers before their departure;
- The foreigners must have a passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival and blank pages for visa stamp;
- The foreigners will travel Vietnam by airplane via the international airports. If you travel Vietnam via land border gates or sea port you should apply for a Vietnam e-visa instead;
- The visa on arrival is an altenative to the e-visa in case you need to enter Vietnam urgently but your e-visa application is pending or needs to amend at the last minutes, when you are about to board the plane to Vietnam.
