Notice on the full name in the Philippines passports when applying for Vietnam e-visa
Filipinos citizens are exempted from Vietnam visa for 21 days but if you (Filipinos travelers) want to stay more than 21 days in Vietnam, you must apply for Vietnam visa. At present, the Filipinos citizens are eligible for Vietnam e-visa so that you can go online and make an e-visa application via Vietnam visa portal easily. However, many travelers holding Philippines passports have recently reported that there are different between their full name printed on the passport and the ICAO line. Even the full name (including first name, last name and middle name) is shown on the passport but the ICAO line only displays their first name and last name, no middle name is mentioned. That makes them confused when applying for Vietnam e-visa.
The difference between full name and ICAO line in the Philippines passports (no middle name is mentioned in ICAO line)
Some of Filipinos applicants choose to fill in the visa application form with their full name (including first name, last name and middle name) and after several days, they receive a notification from the Vietnam Immigration Department asking them to correct their full name as it NOT correct. They edit the name by entering the first name and last name only (as it displays on the ICAO line) and the e-visa approved.
Please note that, if there is any difference between the full name printed on the passport and the ICAO line that name in the ICAO line is recommended. You please do not enter your middle name into the visa application form if it is not mentioned in the ICAO line or you will be requested to correct it. This is important thing that the Filipinos citizens should keep in mind to avoid editing the visa application many times.
The instruction from the Vietnam Immigration Department on filling the full name
If you have to edit the visa application form, please do it immediately as soon as you received a notification from the Vietnam Immigration Department. It will take more 3 – 5 days to review the visa application so that it may affect to your schedule. If it is too closed to your date of departure for Vietnam, you may need an emergency Vietnam visa service and we can help you to arrange a visa within 1 working day or even 4 working hours.
